California Privacy Notice & Do Not Sell or Share
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA").
Notice at collection
We collect the categories of personal information below for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy, chiefly to match you with insurance providers and deliver your request to them. We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, including to document your consent and meet legal obligations.
Categories of personal information
- Identifiers: name, email, phone, postal address, IP address, online and advertising identifiers.
- Personal records and characteristics: date of birth, gender and marital status.
- Commercial information: vehicle details, current insurance status and insurer, homeownership, and driving-history answers.
- Internet activity: pages viewed, interactions with our form, and referral and campaign data.
- Geolocation: approximate location derived from your ZIP code or IP address.
- Inferences drawn from the above to match you with providers.

Directly from you; automatically from your device through cookies and similar technologies; and from our advertising and analytics partners.
Sale or sharing of personal information
We "sell" identifiers, characteristics and commercial information to insurance carriers, agents, brokers and lead exchanges (our Matched Companies), and we "share" identifiers and internet activity with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Your rights
- Know and access the personal information we have collected about you;
- Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; and
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would give rise to a right to limit under the CCPA.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
To opt out, email privacy@thequotematch.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share," or submit your phone number and email on our opt-out page. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a request to opt out for that browser.
How to submit a request
Email privacy@thequotematch.com. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. To protect your information, we will verify your identity by matching information you provide against information we hold. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of the agent's authority and for you to verify your identity directly.
